Ham from Carrefour and Auchan Recalled Nationwide

Ham sold by Carrefour and Auchan is being recalled across France. It is contaminated with Listeria bacteria.

The official website Rappel Conso reported on Monday, December 19, that ham sold in Auchan and Carrefour supermarkets may be contaminated with Listeria and is therefore subject to a product recall.

At Carrefour, the affected product is “Jambon Cuit supérieur avec couenne 2T 80g” (cooked superior ham with rind 2T 80g). The ham was sold throughout France between December 5 and 16, 2022. Its barcode is 3560071014513 and the batch number is 1127870.

At Auchan, the affected product is “Jambon cuit supérieur taux de sel réduit VPF 4 TRANCHES” (cooked superior ham with reduced salt content VPF 4 SLICES). It was marketed throughout France between December 5 and 13. Its barcode is 3596710353217 and the batch number is 1129104.

Anyone who purchased these hams should not consume them. Customers can return them to the point of sale, where a refund will be offered. “People who have consumed the above products and experience fever, either alone or in combination with headaches and muscle pain, are advised to consult their doctor and inform them of the consumption. Sometimes severe forms with neurological complications and damage in pregnant women can also occur. Listeriosis is a serious illness and its incubation period can be up to eight weeks,” states the website Rappel Conso.
