Elton John’s Photo Treasure Exhibition “Fragile Beauty” Held at Jeu de Paume in Paris

Paris – June 13, 2026: The eagerly awaited exhibition “Fragile Beauty” opens on June 12, 2026, at the prestigious Jeu de Paume in the heart of Paris. Over 300 photographs from the impressive collection of Sir Elton John and David Furnish will be on display until September 27. This collection of more than 7,000 items is considered one of the largest and most important private photography collections in the world.

The exhibition was first held at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London from May 2024 to January 2025 and has been specially curated to fit the space at Jeu de Paume. The exhibition is divided into five themes that are central aspects of the human experience: desire, fashion, fame, photojournalism, and the exploration of identity. It includes masters such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, Irving Penn, Ai Weiwei, and Nan Goldin, with Nan Goldin participating with a huge installation consisting of 149 works from her “Thanksgiving” series.

Sir Elton John began collecting photographs in 1991, a passion he shares with his husband David Furnish. Their collection includes iconic works from the history of photography spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. The “Fragile Beauty” exhibition celebrates more than 30 years of collecting history and reflects the personal taste and unique perspective of the two collectors.

The photographs were carefully selected to explore the connection between the resilience and fragility of human nature. They tell stories about the complexity of life and the diversity of human experiences. Visitors can visually journey through the development of aesthetically sophisticated and profound modern and contemporary photography.

Located in the center of Paris, the historic art museum Jeu de Paume provides the perfect venue for this exhibition. With a long history of photography and contemporary art exhibitions, it has established itself as a vital place for art lovers. The “Fragile Beauty” exhibition is expected to be a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar and attract visitors from around the world.

Those wishing to visit the exhibition should note that it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with extended hours until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays. Admission is 12 euros, with discounted rates available for students and young people. Advance booking is recommended to avoid long wait times.

“Fragile Beauty” is more than just an exhibition; it is an invitation to see the world through the lenses of two passionate collectors and to celebrate the depth and diversity of human experience. A visit to Jeu de Paume promises an unforgettable experience for all lovers of photographic art.
