Paris – 15.06.2026: Amid ongoing discussions about the handling of sexual violence cases in France, journalist and activist Eve Simonet has launched the platform “Classés sans suite.” This initiative aims to make visible the systemic nature and widespread extent of sexual violence. The platform enables victims to share their experiences anonymously, regardless of whether they have filed a complaint or not. “It is about showing the hyper-massive, but also systemic scale of sexual violence,” Simonet explains. She emphasizes that the platform functions as a “citizen archive,” collecting testimonies that might otherwise remain unheard.
Since its launch, the platform has received an impressive response. Within just three days, more than 1,660 testimonies have been collected and over 55,000 visits recorded. These numbers highlight the urgent need for such initiatives and society’s willingness to engage with this issue.
The motivation behind “Classés sans suite” is a reaction to repeated reports of poor handling of sexual violence cases by the judiciary. Simonet points to the alarming statistic that between 2012 and 2021, approximately 86% of sexual violence complaints in France were closed without further investigation. These figures raise questions about the effectiveness and sensitivity of existing systems.
The platform not only gives victims a voice but also serves as a valuable resource for researchers, journalists, and policymakers. By collecting and analyzing testimonies, patterns and recurring problems can be identified that point to systemic weaknesses.
However, critics warn of possible risks such as the spread of misinformation or the endangerment of the victims’ privacy. Simonet stresses that strict security measures have been implemented to ensure user anonymity and protection. The platform works closely with experts to ensure that the collected data is handled responsibly and respectfully.
“Classés sans suite” is more than just a collection of stories; it is a call to action. It challenges society and institutions to take their responsibility seriously and to take the necessary steps to do justice to victims and prevent future cases.
The initiative has already received broad support on social media, with thousands of shares and positive feedback. This shows that awareness of the issue is growing and the desire for change is strong.
