Summer of Dance Arts: Our Selection Celebrating the Diversity of Choreography

Paris – June 24, 2026: The summer in France promises to be a celebration of the diversity of dance. Numerous outdoor performances, set against special backdrops, honor French heritage and offer unforgettable experiences.

From July 11 to August 4, 2026, the “Festival Paris l’été” will take place in Paris. This prestigious festival presents a mix of theater, dance, circus, music, and performance art at more than 15 unique venues throughout the city and surrounding regions. Most events are free and offer performances to suit every taste.

One of the highlights of the festival is the performance “Revoir les étoiles” by the Australian circus group Circa. Taking place from June 5 to 7, 2026 at Grand Palais d’été, this show guides the audience into the world of aerial acrobatics, combining dance, theater, and music. This production is a tribute celebrating optimism and symbolizes an ascent from darkness to light.

From June 15 to 21, 2026, the MoVa Festival will be held in the Balagne region of Corsica. This innovative contemporary dance and music festival integrates art into the region’s breathtaking landscapes. Three immersive art routes connect a variety of natural and historic sites and offer numerous workshops and masterclasses open to all ages.

For contemporary circus lovers, the “Festival Rue des Étoiles” will take place from August 20 to 24, 2026 in Landeleau-Biscarrosse. Established in 1998, this festival offers a week filled with acrobatics, juggling, clown acts, and aerial stunts set in the picturesque environment along the shores of Lac de Latécoère. The event combines poetic sensibility, humor, and technical craftsmanship.

Finally, on July 22 and 23, 2026, Carmel Loanga’s performance “L’ivresse des lucioles” will be presented in Paris at the Jardin des Tuileries. Part of the “Étés du Louvre” series, this dance work promises a unique outdoor experience.

These selected events reflect the vibrant and multifaceted dance art scene in France. They provide opportunities for audiences to experience a wide range of art forms, from classical and contemporary dance to innovative circus and performance art. By choosing unique venues, the festivals blend stage performances into natural and urban landscapes, creating unforgettable summer scenery.

In addition to professional performances, many festivals offer workshops and masterclasses that support young talents and those interested in the arts. Thus, the summer of 2026 will be an opportunity not only to observe the French cultural scene but also to actively participate in it. Overall, this season is expected to be a cultural highlight successfully combining dance arts, circus, tradition, and innovation.
