Summer of the art of dance: our selection to celebrate choreographic diversity

Paris – 24.06.2026: The summer in France promises a celebration of choreographic diversity. Numerous outdoor performances in extraordinary settings pay tribute to French heritage and invite unforgettable experiences.

From July 11 to August 4, 2026, the “Festival Paris l’été” takes place in Paris. This renowned festival presents a mix of theater, dance, circus, music, and performing arts in over fifteen unusual locations throughout the city and region. The events are mostly free and offer something for every taste.

A highlight of the festival is the show “Revoir les étoiles” by the Australian circus group Circa. From June 5 to 7, 2026, at the Grand Palais d’été, this performance transports the audience into a world of aerial acrobatics that combines dance, theater, and music. The staging is a tribute to optimism and symbolizes the ascent from darkness to light.

From June 15 to 21, 2026, the MoVa Festival takes place in Balagne in Corsica. This innovative contemporary dance and music festival integrates art into the region’s extraordinary landscapes. It offers three immersive artistic routes connecting various natural and historical sites, as well as numerous workshops and masterclasses for all ages.

For lovers of contemporary circus, the “Festival Rue des Étoiles” from August 20 to 24, 2026, in Biscarrosse in the Landes region offers a week filled with acrobatics, juggling, clowning, and aerial feats. This festival, active since 1998, takes place in a picturesque setting on the shores of Lac de Latécoère and combines poetry, humor, and technical mastery.

Finally, the event “L’ivresse des lucioles” by Carmel Loanga, on July 22 and 23, 2026, in the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, deserves mention. This dance piece, presented as part of the “Étés du Louvre”, promises a unique outdoor experience.

The variety of selected events reflects France’s vibrant and multifaceted dance scene. They offer audiences the opportunity to discover the many facets of this art form – from classical and contemporary dance to innovative circus and performing arts. The choice of extraordinary venues also adds special value, placing the performances in picturesque natural or urban landscapes that create unforgettable summer impressions.

In addition to professional performances, many festivals offer workshops and masterclasses that especially support young talents and enthusiasts. Thus, summer 2026 becomes an occasion not only to passively enjoy the French cultural scene but also to actively participate in it. Overall, the season promises to be a significant cultural moment that successfully combines dance and circus arts, tradition and innovation.
