Two Generations, One Dream: Léon and Clément Follow the Bleus in the USA

Paris – 26.06.2026: Ten-year-old Léon from Paris and 78-year-old Clément from Antibes in southern France share more than just their French nationality. They are passionate fans of the French national football team, which is currently playing in the 2026 World Cup in the USA. Despite an age difference of 68 years, they set out to support the Bleus live on site – a passionate journey that highlights their cross-generational love for the sport.

For Léon, this is the first World Cup he is experiencing up close. His parents accompanied him on the trip to give him the experience of his first World Cup. The boy raves about the atmosphere in the American stadiums and the excitement that every game brings. “It is impressive to see the talents of the best players in the world live,” Léon reports enthusiastically. He discovered and fell in love with football at an early age, and this trip means much more to him than just watching.

The situation is quite different for Clément from Antibes. He is one of the most experienced supporters of the French national team and is attending a World Cup for the tenth time. Since 1998, he has regularly traveled to international tournaments, earning him the reputation of an unofficial mascot among French football fans. “This passion has accompanied me my whole life, and I can’t help but remain loyal to my team,” Clément explains with a proud voice. His routine on such trips shows no signs of fatigue – on the contrary: he enjoys them to the fullest.

The two fans from different generations met on the sidelines of the games and exchanged their impressions. Léon learned a lot about the glorious history of the French team, such as the triumphs of 1998 and 2018, which are still vivid memories for Clément. “It becomes clear to me how football can connect several generations,” Léon says thoughtfully. “Despite the big age difference, we share the same enthusiasm and hope for our team.”

This year’s football World Cup in the USA brings people from all over the world together and creates stories like this one that go far beyond sport. Léon and Clément show that love for the game and the national team connects generations and creates shared experiences that will be remembered for a lifetime.

Regardless of the outcome of the tournament, the journey of these two fans will embody the spirit of the World Cup – the passion for football as a universal language and the power to unite people of all ages.
