Forest fire near Fontainebleau: Canadair aircraft battle the fire front

Fontainebleau – 13 July 2026: Firefighting aircraft are flying over the Fontainebleau forest while firefighters battle a rapidly advancing wall of flames on the ground. According to emergency services, the fire has already affected around 800 hectares. The blaze has reached one of the best-known forest areas in the Île-de-France region, about 60 kilometres southeast of Paris.

To support ground crews, two Canadair water-bombing aircraft have been deployed. Their use in the Fontainebleau area is considered exceptional.
