France – 18/07/2026: TF1 has temporarily removed an actor from the production of the daily series “Ici tout commence” following a serious altercation with a fellow cast member. The incident took place on Friday, 17 July, outside of filming. The channel confirmed that it had taken a preventive measure.
In doing so, the private broadcaster is responding to an incident whose exact circumstances have not yet been publicly clarified. No further details were provided about either the course of events or possible consequences for the people involved. For now, the measure does not constitute a declaration of guilt, but rather aims to ensure the day-to-day functioning of the production while the facts are examined.
Especially in a daily series such as “Ici tout commence”, this kind of interruption affects an operation with a very tight schedule. Episodes are produced well in advance, and sets, scripts and cast are carefully interconnected. The sudden absence of a cast member therefore requires not only organizational solutions, but also special consideration for teams in front of and behind the cameras.
TF1 stated that it does not tolerate violence in any form. The decision not to continue working with the affected performer for the time being should be understood as a protective measure for those working on set. The focus is not only on the visible television production, but also on the safety of the many professionals who maintain the pace of a daily format: directing, technical crew, makeup, wardrobe and editorial staff.
“Ici tout commence” has been part of TF1’s regular series offering since its premiere in 2020. Set in a culinary school, the format is based on a large cast and a narrative in which private conflicts, professional ambition and family stories are closely intertwined. The series continues to air on the channel in the early evening.
However, the current case now shifts attention away from the series’ fictional crises toward a production’s responsibility toward its employees. In the face of allegations of physical violence, caution is advisable until the facts have been definitively clarified. At the same time, the channel’s swift response demonstrates the importance attributed to a protected working environment in the French television sector.
It is unknown whether and when the temporarily removed actor will return to the set. It also remains to be seen whether the production will have to alter its planning or storylines already prepared. For viewers, the news will probably be unsettling above all because a daily series usually promises reliability and has now been hit by a very real shock.
