Orange cancels Queen tribute concert, sparking controversy

Mayor Jean-Dominique Artaud and the city government confirmed the cancellation of the event. Artaud was elected mayor in March 2026 on a National Rally candidate list. Producer David Hardit said that around 600 volunteer male and female singers were to take part that evening. Hardit rejected the claims of financial reasons and said he had sought legal remedies against the decision. He wants the administrative court to review the cancellation. This is therefore not just about a concert. Organizers, volunteer participants, and potential audience members must now face the uncertainty of whether the project can still take place.
