Mérignac - 22/07/2026: A major fire near Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport has claimed the lives of two firefighters. The two members of the Gironde departmental fire and rescue service were dispatched to the incident on Tuesday afternoon, July 21. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed the deaths during questions to the government in the National Assembly.
