Wildfire Fronts Continue to Put Southern Europe Under Pressure

Palermo - 24 July 2026: The smell of smoke once again hangs over Sicily. For days, firefighters, forestry services and civil protection teams have been battling a series of vegetation and forest fires affecting several parts of the region at the same time. According to the regional government, more than 1,000 fires were registered within five days.
