Explosion at Montebello Distillery: One Dead and Four Seriously Injured

Petit-Bourg – 24 July 2026: An explosion shook the Montebello Distillery in the Montebello district of Petit-Bourg, Guadeloupe, on Friday morning. According to the initial information available, five people were seriously injured. One of the injured later died as a result of his injuries. Emergency services were deployed at the industrial site immediately after the incident.

According to reports from the region, the explosion could be clearly heard in the surrounding neighborhood. Residents were startled by the blast in the morning.
