After Major Fire in Le Porge, Frustration Grows Among Those Affected

Le Porge - 28 July 2026: Following the devastating forest fire north of the Bassin d'Arcachon, numerous residents of Le Porge are facing the ruins of their homes. Mayor Martial Zaninetti put the number of completely burned-down homes in his municipality at at least 175. The fire broke out in Saumos on 22 July and subsequently spread toward Le Porge and Lège-Cap-Ferret.For many returning residents, the task of assessing the damage is now beginning.
