Forest Owners in Gironde Criticize Felling After Major Fire

Gironde - 08/08/2026: Following the major fire near the Arcachon Basin, forest owners are lamenting the loss of healthy stands caused by tactical felling. According to Franceinfo, trees were felled in great haste across more than 500 hectares during the operation in order to create firebreaks against the flames.
