Alexander Zverev defeats Quentin Halys in the 3rd set at Roland Garros

Paris – May 29, 2026: In the third round of the Roland Garros men’s singles, German tennis pro Alexander Zverev faced off against French player Quentin Halys. The match, held on the Philippe Chatrier court, was a fierce competition in front of an enthusiastic crowd, with Zverev winning with a final set score of 6-4, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 to advance to the Round of 16.

Currently ranked No. 3 in the ATP world rankings and seeded No. 2 in the tournament, Zverev displayed overall stable performance. The 29-year-old Zverev remained unfazed despite an unexpected set loss in the third set. Halys, a local player ranked 90th in the world, showed strong determination to take the set 7-5, but it was not enough to completely disrupt Zverev’s rhythm.

In the first set, Zverev broke early and closed it out easily at 6-4. He then took control of the second set with a 6-3 win. Although Halys secured a crucial break and won the third set, Zverev raised his pace in the fourth set, saving several of his service games to decisively dominate the set 6-2.

With this victory, Zverev will face the Netherlands’ Jesper de Jong in the Round of 16. Meanwhile, Halys was eliminated at Roland Garros but gained valuable experience by taking a set off a top-level player.
