Israeli Military Orders Evacuation of Seven Villages in South Lebanon

Beirut – May 30, 2026: The Israeli military ordered residents of seven villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately on May 27, 2026. This measure is part of ongoing military operations against the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon. The villages are Ansariyeh, Kuraib, Chapliha, Sarafand, Adloun, Baysariyeh, and Houmine El Faouqa, and residents were instructed to evacuate north of the Zahrani River.

This evacuation order was issued after the Israeli military crossed the Litani River, located about 30 km north of the Lebanon border. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the attack, stating that the Israeli military is responding to Hezbollah with “full force.”

Recent Israeli military activity has intensified, with airstrikes on about 30 locations in southern Lebanon, especially areas including the city near Tyre. These attacks target pro-Iran Hezbollah facilities. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 11 people, including rescue workers and Syrian nationals, have died as a result of this attack.

Despite an official ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, Israel continues attacks against Hezbollah. The tension between the two countries has significantly escalated in recent weeks following the Israeli military’s crossing of the Litani River.

As military tension rises, talks between Israeli and Lebanese military delegations are underway in Washington under US mediation. These negotiations are described as “constructive,” but Hezbollah opposes direct talks between Lebanon and Israel.

The international community is concerned about the situation in southern Lebanon, monitoring the ongoing clashes for potential to trigger additional humanitarian crises. Civilian evacuations and ongoing military operations pose a significant risk of further destabilizing the region.

The situation remains urgent, and how events will unfold in the coming days is uncertain. The international community is calling for de-escalation and peace negotiations, striving to prevent further deterioration of the conflict.

The Lebanese government condemned the Israeli military’s evacuation order as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, emphasizing that such measures only heighten regional tensions. It also urges the international community to increase pressure on Israel to immediately cease military operations and return to agreements.

The humanitarian situation in southern Lebanon is worsening, with thousands of civilians leaving their homes and seeking refuge in unstable areas. Relief organizations are warning of an impending humanitarian crisis and appeal to the international community for urgent assistance.
