Autopsy After Death of Daniel Siad: No Immediate Cause of Death Established

Colombes – 24 July 2026: The autopsy of Daniel Siad, who was found dead at his home in Colombes on Monday evening, has initially not established an immediate cause of death. The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office announced this on Friday. The examination found no recent signs of violence that could be connected to the death.

According to the prosecutor’s office, forensic pathologists also found that he was in significantly impaired health and showed signs of a previous heart attack. A conclusive explanation for the 69-year-old’s death has therefore not been found. Further medical examinations and the assessment of investigative findings are intended to clarify the outstanding questions.

Following the discovery of the body, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened proceedings to determine the cause of death. The criminal police department in Hauts-de-Seine is responsible for the case. Such proceedings initially serve to examine every conceivable circumstance of a death; the information released so far provides no indication of a violent crime.

Siad worked as a model scout. His name had recently become known in connection with the network of US businessman Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019. Media outlets described him as an alleged intermediary for young women. In France, he faced allegations including suspected rape and human trafficking. These allegations had not been legally established, and Siad denied them.

Independently of his death, the Paris public prosecutor’s office is continuing its investigation into a possible network. The investigation concerns suspected organized human trafficking and possible additional participants. According to the Paris judiciary, women have come forward or have been identified who reported possible acts or provided information about the case.

The death of a suspect does not automatically end such structural investigations. For potential victims, the key issue remains whether statements, documents and communications data are secured and examined. Investigators must strictly separate two questions: the still unresolved cause of Daniel Siad’s death and the ongoing investigations into allegations against other or unidentified individuals.

For relatives, the interim findings primarily mean uncertainty. At this stage, the medical findings do not rule out any cause, but they also identify none. The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office therefore stresses a narrow framework in its statement: no recent injuries, no immediate reason for death established so far – and proceedings that have not yet been concluded.
