Court of Appeal Upholds Conviction of Marine Le Pen and Reduces Political Disqualification

Paris - 07.07.2026: The Cour d'appel de Paris has upheld the conviction against Marine Le Pen in the case concerning the employment of parliamentary assistants of the former Front National, while at the same time recalibrating parts of the sentence. The court reaffirmed the seriousness of the misconduct found to the detriment of the European Parliament, but adjusted the political disqualification (Inéligibilité) as well as the modalities of the prison sentence.
