Break-in at Musée Lalique: Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder temporarily closed after night-time theft

Wingen-sur-Moder - 05.07.2026: In the early hours of July 5, the Musée Lalique in Alsatian Wingen-sur-Moder was the target of a break-in. Staff noticed signs of forced entry in the exhibition rooms at the start of their shift and immediately alerted the authorities. Management closed the institution that morning, visitors were turned away, and scheduled tours and events were cancelled. There are no confirmed figures yet on the extent of the damage.
