Fan Zones for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in France: An Overview

Paris – 10.06.2026: The 2026 FIFA World Cup is looming, and France is preparing with numerous fan zones for the major event. The goal is to provide fans from different nations with a shared, spirited experience and to make the excitement for the tournament palpable beyond the stadiums.

In the French capital Paris, the Parc de la Villette is one of the central venues. From June 13 to July 19, 2026, a spacious fan zone with large screens and many activities will be set up here. Family-friendly offerings such as interactive LEGO® experiences complement the football program and are intended to appeal to children and teenagers.

Another exceptional fan zone is planned at the Quai de la Photo in the 13th arrondissement. The special feature of this location is a floating platform on the Seine where around 800 visitors can watch the matches live. This initiative is part of a sponsorship cooperation with Coca-Cola, which, as a longtime FIFA partner, supports the high-profile character.

Additionally, an official FIFA fan zone will open in the municipality of Léon in the Landes region. Between June 14 and July 19, 2026, football matches will be shown on large screens here, and various supporting programs such as football challenges and musical performances will be organized to make the tournament atmosphere experienceable beyond the big cities.

Besides these main locations, there are over 600 other fan zones in France, clearly displayed on the platform Fan Zone France. This online offering enables fans to easily find a nearby fan zone and learn about the respective program.

Despite these diverse initiatives, many French cities remain reserved about setting up large fan zones, which sparks discussions within the football community. Nonetheless, experts expect that especially in Paris and selected regions intense football fever will break out, bringing fans together and adding extra flair to the tournament.

With the start of the World Cup on June 13, 2026, the matches will begin, with France as host forming a trio of hosts together with Canada and the USA. The fan zones will play an important role in making game matches and open-air celebrations tangible—from the group stage through the knockout phase to the final on July 19.

This development underlines the trend of making major sporting events increasingly experienceable outside the stadium and promoting solidarity among fans through public events. Especially for France, this offers the opportunity to welcome both local communities and international visitors and to accompany the global football event with diverse activities.
