Father and Son Found Dead at Campsite in Thiennes

Thiennes – 21/07/2026: A 71-year-old man and his 42-year-old son have been found dead at Le Tannay campsite in Thiennes, in the Nord department. The discovery on Monday, July 20, prompted an operation by emergency services and the gendarmerie in the small town near the Lys River. The Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation to determine the cause of the deaths.

According to the information released so far, the 71-year-old was initially found lifeless in the campsite’s sanitary facilities. Shortly afterwards, emergency personnel also found his son dead in a mobile home. Both men had reportedly been staying at the site for several months.
