Festival de Ramatuelle 2026: A Summer Full of Culture and Music

Ramatuelle – 06/25/2026: From July 29 to August 12, 2026, the renowned Festival de Ramatuelle invites you to its new edition, which promises a varied program under the artistic direction of Michel Boujenah. The festival, founded in 1985 by Jacqueline Franjou and Jean-Claude Brialy, honors the actor Gérard Philipe and has since established itself as a cultural highlight of the region.

This year’s edition begins with the “Nuits Classiques” from July 29 to 31. The opening on July 29 features an extraordinary performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony for two pianos, soloists, and choir, with Hélène Mercier and Louis Lortie on the pianos, as well as the choir of the Toulon Opera. On July 30, the ballet “Misatango / Boléro” by the Ballet Julien Lestel explores the connections between music and movement, spirituality, and sensuality. The “Nuits Classiques” conclude on July 31 with a “Songbook” featuring Lambert Wilson, Pierre Genisson, and Bruno Fontaine, presenting the great classics of French chanson as well as American standards.

From August 1 to 12, the festival offers an extensive cultural program with twelve additional events. The opening on August 1 features comedian Manu Payet with his new program “Emmanuel 2.” On August 2, Molière’s “The Bourgeois Gentleman” is performed in a production by Jérémie Lippmann starring Jean-Paul Rouve. On August 3, Michel Boujenah presents the comedy “Toute la famille que j’aime” by Sacha Judaszko and Fabrice Donnio. Other highlights include Jeanne Cherhal’s concert on August 8, Camille Chamoux’s new solo program on August 9, as well as a performance of the theater classic “Twelve Angry Men” by Reginald Rose on August 11. The festival closes on August 12 with a concert by Bénabar.

The events take place at the Théâtre de Verdure in Ramatuelle, a picturesque open-air theater known for its excellent acoustics and special atmosphere.
