Fire at Wildberries Warehouse in Voronezh Region After Drone Attack

Voronezh – 11 August 2026: A logistics site of Russian online retailer Wildberries in the border region of Voronezh caught fire following a nighttime drone attack. The company said on Tuesday that the affected facilities had been hit and that the fire had since been extinguished. According to an initial assessment, the vast majority of goods stored there were not damaged. Wildberries initially did not release information on possible injuries or the exact extent of the damage.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that air defenses had intercepted nearly 400 Ukrainian drones overnight over 14 Russian regions and occupied Crimea. Independently verifiable information on the number of drones launched, all impact sites and the extent of the damage was not initially available. The Ukrainian side did not comment specifically on the incident in Voronezh in the initial statements available.

The Voronezh region borders Ukraine to the west and has long been among the Russian areas affected by drone attacks. The latest fire once again affects Wildberries, Russia’s largest online retailer. The company operates a nationwide network of sorting centers and warehouses through which orders from retailers, manufacturers and private sellers are processed.

The attack is part of a series of incidents at Wildberries sites. Ukrainian drones have repeatedly reached the company’s warehouses in various Russian regions in recent weeks. These incidents have repeatedly caused fires and operational disruptions. At the beginning of August, Russian authorities and the company also reported an attack on a warehouse in Yekaterinburg in the Urals, far from the Ukrainian border.

Kyiv says its aim with attacks deep inside Russian territory is to weaken Moscow’s ability to continue its war of aggression against Ukraine. In addition to militarily used facilities, the targets primarily include energy installations, refineries and logistics facilities. Russia rejects these attacks and regularly emphasizes that it has repelled numerous drones, without providing complete information on successful strikes.

For Wildberries, repeated damage to warehouse sites could affect supply chains and order processing. Following earlier attacks, the company had temporarily suspended some operations and announced compensation for those affected. It was not disclosed on Tuesday how long the site in the Voronezh region would remain restricted this time. Wildberries stated only that the fire had been extinguished and that most goods had been preserved.

The incident occurred on a night of extensive mutual attacks. According to Ukrainian reports, Russia attacked cities with missiles, glide bombs and drones; several people were reported killed and injured in Ukraine. At the same time, Moscow reported repelling Ukrainian drones over a large part of the country. Claims by the warring parties regarding attacks and damage cannot in many cases be independently confirmed immediately.
