Boston – 06/10/2026: The French national football team arrived in Boston on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, to prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026. After a flight of about seven and a half hours, the team landed at Logan Airport in the late afternoon. They then proceeded directly to the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Boston, which will serve as their headquarters during the tournament.

Hundreds of fans had already gathered in front of the hotel to welcome their idols. Some supporters waited there up to eight hours before the arrival to get autographs or take photos. Especially star player Kylian Mbappé was greeted with great cheers and took plenty of time for the fans. Midfielder Adrien Rabiot also expressed enthusiasm after arrival: “A very warm welcome that motivates us to start the World Cup with full strength.”

Preparation for the tournament will take place at the training grounds of Bentley University in Waltham, about 30 minutes from Boston. The first official training session is scheduled for Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. CEST). The team aims to optimally prepare there for the upcoming challenges.

The World Cup begins for the Bleu on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, with the group match against Senegal at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Other group opponents are Iraq on June 22 in Philadelphia and Norway on June 26 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The stay in Boston provides the French team a good opportunity to get used to American conditions and climate. The team benefits from the great local fan interest, which provides an additional boost of motivation. The French national football team is considered one of the favorites at the World Cup and aims to defend its title. The environment in Boston offers the best conditions for this – from modern training infrastructure to the open and warm reception by the local population.

In addition to the sporting preparation, being present in American public life is important to further promote the team and football in the USA. The meeting with fans in front of the Four Seasons Hotel impressively demonstrated how great the enthusiasm for the French team already is before the start of the tournament. The coaching staff led by Didier Deschamps and the players themselves feel well prepared and are already looking forward to the World Cup phase with great confidence.
