Bordeaux - 25 July 2026: In view of the severe wildfires in southwestern France, the government is increasing military assistance for the heavily strained fire services. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced, following an interministerial crisis meeting on Friday, 24 July, that 500 additional soldiers would be deployed to Gironde and the Landes department.
