France deploys A400M as additional aerial reserve for wildfires

Paris - 23 July 2026: France intends to make the Airbus A400M military transport aircraft available at short notice as an additional reserve for combating forest and vegetation fires. Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said on France 2 on Thursday that the aircraft was currently being equipped for the fastest possible deployment. It is intended to supplement the existing Canadair firefighting aircraft.
