Early drought exacerbates water shortage in France

Paris - 17.07.2026: France is experiencing an exceptionally early and intense drought in the middle of the year. The Environment Ministry reports dried-out soils across France, including Corsica, as well as rapidly falling water levels. Nearly one-third of monitoring stations are recording water levels below the lowest values for this period over the past twenty years.
