In some cases, promotional quantities were reduced or start times were changed to avoid crowds and distribute availability throughout the day. Industry sources estimate that the supply situation will only ease noticeably with new deliveries and declining heat.

Energy advisors remind consumers that not every mobile air-conditioning unit is economically viable. Decisive factors are room size, energy efficiency class, noise level, and proper air exhaust. Price comparisons before purchase, warranties, return rights, and electricity consumption should be considered. For households with longer-term cooling needs, reversible heat pumps or structural measures—such as shading, insulation, and nighttime ventilation—can reduce operating costs. The corresponding advisory services receive government support in France.

In the short term, purchasing small fans, shading sun-exposed windows, and creating cool zones remain central for many households. Health authorities remind people to drink enough water, avoid physical exertion, and pay particular attention to elderly people or those with pre-existing conditions. Authorities and consumer advocates announced that they will monitor price movements and marketplace offers more closely in the coming days to curb abuses and stabilize supply.
