Highest Alert Level for Dangerous Currents on Aquitaine's Atlantic Coast

Bordeaux - 28 July 2026: On Tuesday, 28 July 2026, there is a maximum risk from baïnes, dangerous rip currents, in four departments along the Atlantic coast of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques are affected. The responsible prefectures are urging beachgoers to use only designated areas supervised by lifeguards.
