Paris – 06/13/2026: In the heart of Paris, at the renowned Jeu de Paume, the long-awaited exhibition “Fragile Beauty” opens on June 12, 2026. Until September 27, 2026, more than 300 photographs from the impressive collection of Sir Elton John and David Furnish will be presented. This collection, which includes more than 7,000 works, is considered one of the largest and most important private photography collections in the world.

The exhibition, originally shown at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London between May 2024 and January 2025, was specially conceived for the spaces of the Jeu de Paume. It is organized into five thematic sections that illuminate central aspects of the human experience: desire, fashion, celebrity, reportage, and the search for identity. Among the featured photographers are great names such as Robert Mapplethorpe, Diane Arbus, Irving Penn, Ai Weiwei, and Nan Goldin. The latter is represented by a monumental installation of 149 photographs from her “Thanksgiving” series.

Sir Elton John began collecting photographs in 1991, sharing this passion with his husband David Furnish. Their collection spans the 20th and 21st centuries and includes works considered revolutionary in the history of photography. The exhibition “Fragile Beauty” celebrates more than three decades of collecting and reflects the personal taste and unique vision of the two collectors.

The photographs have been carefully selected to explore the connection between strength and vulnerability in human nature. They tell stories about the complexity of life and the variety of human experiences. Visitors will be able to experience a visual journey through the evolution of modern and contemporary photography, which is both aesthetically captivating and deeply meaningful.

The Jeu de Paume, a museum with a long tradition located in the heart of Paris, provides the ideal context for this exhibition. With its established history in presenting photography and contemporary art, it has become a reference point for art lovers. The exhibition “Fragile Beauty” represents a highlight of the city’s cultural calendar and promises to captivate visitors from around the world.

For those wishing to visit the exhibition, opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with extended hours on Wednesday until 9:00 PM. The ticket price is 12 euros, with reduced rates for students and young adults. It is recommended to book tickets in advance to avoid long waits.
