Immersive Experience: The Eiffel Tower Like Never Before

Paris – 06/03/2026: At the foot of the Eiffel Tower lady, visitors are awaited by an extraordinary time travel experience. Since April 17, 2026, the immersive experience “Le Symbole de Paris” invites visitors to discover the history of this iconic landmark in an innovative way. Equipped with virtual reality headsets and accompanied by expert guides, participants embark on an approximately one-hour tour across the Champ-de-Mars. At various stations, the past comes to life, with a focus on the time before and around the construction of the Eiffel Tower.

The Champ-de-Mars, known today as a spacious park in front of the Eiffel Tower, formerly served as a military training ground and site of significant republican festivals. These hidden historical facets are made visible again through VR technology, allowing visitors to understand medieval conflicts and political events.

The tour is divided into three main sections: from the medieval Champ-de-Mars, through the construction period in the 19th century when Gustave Eiffel and his engineers worked on their masterpiece, to the 1889 World’s Fair, where the Eiffel Tower was presented to the public for the first time as the tallest building in the world at the time. Participants experience this era from the perspective of a contemporary visitor.

The final section leads through the following decades up to the present day, highlighting, among other things, the Roaring Twenties as well as the time of the German occupation during World War II, when the Eiffel Tower remained a symbol of French resistance despite all adversities.

In total, visitors can expect more than 15 carefully designed immersive scenes that evoke emotions, impart knowledge, and deepen the understanding of the historical and cultural value of the Eiffel Tower. This innovative concept combines modern technology with living history and opens up a completely new perspective on the Parisian landmark.

“Le Symbole de Paris” runs until June 28, 2026, and is aimed at a broad audience aged eight and up. The tour is offered in French, English, and Spanish, providing easy access for international guests. Tickets are available on site, but reservation is recommended.

The project is part of a series of technical innovations in the French capital designed to make history tangible. Other similar initiatives like “Tour Eiffel Effect” and “AURA Invalides” also rely on virtual and augmented reality to offer visitors an intense access to Paris’s historical treasures. These committed offerings help keep the cultural metropolis close and exciting for all generations.
