Fatal incident on Paris’s Boulevard Périphérique after PSG victory: questions about safety signage

Paris – 31.05.2026: On the night of May 31 a tragic fatal road accident occurred on the Boulevard Périphérique in Paris, near Porte Maillot. A motorcyclist of about 24 years old collided head-on with concrete barriers installed by city authorities to block access. The young man died at the scene of the incident from his injuries.

Many residents and road users have expressed concerns about the clarity of the demarcations, especially during large nighttime events and in the presence of crowds.
