Investigation launched after death of nursing home resident in Seine-Maritime

Seine-Maritime – 12 August 2026: Authorities have launched an investigation following the death of a resident at a nursing home in the Seine-Maritime department. The investigation was prompted by a complaint filed by the deceased woman’s daughter. The information published so far does not disclose the woman’s name or age, nor the location or operator of the facility. The time of her death has also not been made public.

The case concerns a particularly vulnerable living situation. Nursing homes are responsible for people who often depend on ongoing support, medical care and careful monitoring in their daily lives. However, the opening of an investigation does not mean that wrongdoing has already been established. The initial aim is to reconstruct the circumstances of the death and examine the allegations raised in the complaint.

It is not yet publicly known what exactly the daughter is challenging.
