Paris – 16.06.2026: French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced today that the French government will end its partnership with the American company Palantir. This decision is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at strengthening the country’s digital sovereignty. At the same time, an investment plan worth 655 million euros will be dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence (AI).
The decision to end the collaboration with Palantir was communicated by Lecornu in a video message. He emphasized that France could not accept new strategic dependencies in the digital sector. It was also announced that the Directorate General for Internal Security (DGSI), France’s national intelligence service, would terminate its contract with Palantir and work with the French company ChapsVision going forward.
As part of the “France 2030” program, the 655 million euros will be invested in the country’s AI infrastructure. These funds are intended to support computing capacity, research, as well as companies and industrial sectors in the field of artificial intelligence. The goal is to strengthen France’s digital sovereignty and increase its independence from foreign technology providers.
Another step in this strategy is the introduction of an AI assistant for approximately one million public-sector employees. This digital assistant, developed in collaboration with the French company Mistral AI, is intended to help civil servants with their daily tasks and improve the efficiency of public administration. The rollout of this tool follows successful trials involving 10,000 employees in various ministries.
