The rise in the cost of living undermines the fundamental rights of EU citizens, according to a report

Brussels – 06/11/2026: The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has published its annual report, which examines the consequences of the rising cost of living on the fundamental rights of EU citizens. According to the report, the increase in the cost of living in many Member States has led to a widening of social inequalities, particularly affecting disadvantaged population groups. This development complicates access to essential services and harms the general well-being of citizens.

Another key point of the report is the increase in online hate crime. The FRA notes that the spread of hate speech and discriminatory content on the Internet has considerably increased in recent years.
