Summer Dance Art: Our Picks for the Choreographic Diversity Festival

Paris – 24.06.2026: Summer in France promises to be a festival of diversity in choreography. Many outdoor performances take place in extraordinary settings, celebrating France’s heritage and inviting unforgettable experiences.

From July 11 to August 4, 2026, “Festival Paris l’été” will take place in Paris. This renowned festival presents a blend of theater, dance, circus, music, and performing arts at more than fifteen unusual venues throughout the city and its surroundings. Most events are free and offer a wide range of options for all tastes.

A highlight of the festival is the performance “Revoir les étoiles” by the Australian circus group Circa. From June 5 to 7, 2026, at the Grand Palais d’été, this show takes the audience into the world of aerial circus, combining dance, theater, and music. The work is a tribute to optimism and symbolizes the rise from darkness to light.

From June 15 to 21, 2026, the MoVa Festival will take place in Balagne on the island of Corsica. This creative festival is dedicated to contemporary dance and music performances integrating art with the region’s stunning landscapes. It offers three immersive artistic routes, connecting various natural and historical sites, along with numerous workshops and masterclasses for all ages.

For lovers of contemporary circus, the “Festival Rue des Étoiles” will be held from August 20 to 24, 2026, in Biscarrosse in the Landes region, offering a week full of acrobatic, juggling, comedy, and aerial circus acts. This festival has been organized since 1998 in a picturesque setting by Lake Lac de Latécoère, combining poetry, humor, and skilled technique.

Finally, the event “L’ivresse des lucioles” by Carmel Loanga will take place on July 22 and 23, 2026, at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris. This dance work, presented as part of “Étés du Louvre,” promises to offer a unique experience in an outdoor space.

The diverse selected events reflect France’s vibrant and multifaceted dance scene. They open opportunities for the public to experience many different aspects of art – from classical and contemporary dance to creative circus and performing arts. The choice of special venues further highlights the uniqueness, as festivals are held in charming natural or urban landscapes, creating unforgettable summer impressions.

In addition to professional performances, many festivals also organize workshops and masterclasses, particularly supporting young talents and those interested. As a result, summer 2026 becomes an opportunity to experience French cultural life not only passively but also actively. Overall, the festival season promises to become a cultural highlight harmoniously combining dance and circus arts, tradition and innovation.
