Paris – 06/26/2026: British rock band Muse released their tenth studio album titled “The Wow! Signal” on June 26, 2026. The new work represents a return to the band’s electric origins and unfolds a powerful energy that at times recalls metal. Compared to the previous album “Will of the People” from 2022, “The Wow! Signal” is less politically charged and focuses more on musical intensity and creative innovation.
The album title refers to the famous “Wow! Signal” from 1977, a mysterious radio signal interpreted by some scientists as a possible indication of extraterrestrial life. Muse frontman Matt Bellamy explained that the album explores themes such as “cosmic mystery” and the possibility of contact with something greater than ourselves – making it feel like a journey into unknown galactic worlds.
The album release was staged in a special way: In collaboration with the company “Sent Into Space,” the band sent a specially designed tablet 33 kilometers into the atmosphere to present the music video for the lead single “Be With You” there. This innovative approach highlights Muse’s technological affinity and underscores their preference for unconventional promotion methods.
The single “Be With You” opens the album with a powerful mix of electronic elements and intense guitar riffs that shape Muse’s signature sound. Directed by Nico Paolillo, the video depicts a dark lunar landscape surrounded by a red halo, amplifying the song’s apocalyptic atmosphere.
Besides “Be With You,” other singles were released in advance, including “Cryogen” and “Hexagons.” The latter, with its electronic arpeggios and Bellamy’s distinctive falsetto voice, is reminiscent of the band’s earlier works like “Origin of Symmetry” and “Black Holes and Revelations.” The full album consists of ten tracks, including “The Dark Forest,” “Nightshift Superstar,” “Shimmering Scars,” “Cryogen,” “Be With You,” “Hexagons,” “The Sickness In You & I,” “Unravelling,” “Hush,” and “Space Debris.”
Muse has already announced a European tour starting on November 12, 2026, in Manchester. Additional concerts are planned in London, Berlin, Milan, Düsseldorf, Paris, Amsterdam, Montpellier, and Zurich. The tour aims not only to showcase the new tracks but also to excite longtime fans with the powerful live performances Muse is world-renowned for.
With “The Wow! Signal,” Muse solidifies their reputation as one of the most innovative rock bands of their generation. The combination of intense sounds, technical sophistication, and substantive depth once again demonstrates how the band knows how to break musical boundaries and continually pursue new creative paths.
