New Search in Jubillar Case Following Cedric Jubillar’s Confession

Cagnac-les-Mines – 16 July 2026: In the case of nurse Delphine Aussaguel, who has been missing since December 2020, investigators in the Tarn have launched new search operations. According to Franceinfo, gendarmes are focusing on a site near the couple’s former home in Cagnac-les-Mines. Cedric Jubillar, the missing woman’s husband, is reportedly at the scene and accompanying the officers.

The renewed search was prompted by written statements by Cedric Jubillar, which were reported in early July. According to media reports, he admitted responsibility for his wife’s death and stated his willingness to cooperate with the justice system. The search is now intended to determine whether his information can lead to the location of the body. No discovery has yet been officially announced.

Delphine Aussaguel disappeared during the night of 15 to 16 December 2020 from her home in Cagnac-les-Mines near Albi. Despite numerous investigative measures, her body has not been found to this day. The case is among the most complex and closely watched criminal proceedings in France in recent years. Previous searches included wooded areas, former industrial sites and other locations in the surrounding area.

Cedric Jubillar was sentenced in October 2025 by the Tarn departmental criminal court to 30 years in prison for the murder of his wife. The new development may be significant for the further proceedings because the exact location of the body has remained unknown. The reports available did not provide any new official information on a possible appeal date or the specific consequences of the latest statements.

The Gendarmerie and the justice system initially made no public comment on the scope, duration or precise location of the ongoing work. It therefore remains unclear which leads investigators are actually examining and whether the operation is limited to a single area. There is also no further verified information about the role of Cedric Jubillar during the operation.

For Delphine Aussaguel’s relatives, a successful search could provide certainty after nearly six years. At the same time, a possible discovery would be an important new piece of physical evidence in proceedings that have long had to proceed without a body. The investigation is ongoing; until the competent authorities issue an official statement, speculation about the outcome of the search should be treated with caution.

The current measures underline that the case has not been concluded even after the first-instance verdict. The key question will be whether the information now being examined is confirmed by traces or other objective evidence. Only an official finding by the justice system or the Gendarmerie can clarify whether the search actually leads to Delphine Aussaguel.
