Paris – 31.05.2026: PSG Celebrates Second Champions League Title with 80,000 Fans

Paris – 31.05.2026: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) celebrated a historic success on May 30, 2026: For the second time in a row, the French top club secured the UEFA Champions League winner’s trophy. In the final in Budapest, PSG defeated the English club Arsenal, thereby solidifying its dominance in European football. The following day, around 80,000 fans gathered at the Champ-de-Mars to celebrate the triumph with the players.

The focus of the celebration was the Georgian forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. With ten goals, he was the top scorer of the 2025/2026 Champions League season and was named the most valuable player of the competition by UEFA. Together with the rest of the team, he presented the trophy on a 450-meter-long stage in front of the Eiffel Tower, which had been converted into a grand festival stage for the public.

Following the event at the Champ-de-Mars, President Emmanuel Macron invited the team to a reception at the Élysée Palace to congratulate the footballers on their outstanding achievement. Afterwards, the players moved on to the Parc des Princes, PSG’s home stadium, to continue the celebrations with their loyal supporters.

However, not all celebrations were peaceful: On the night before the official events, riots and unrest occurred in Paris as well as in other French cities. A total of 780 people were arrested, 219 were injured, and a young man died in a motorcycle accident. President Macron condemned these incidents and called for order and respect during major sporting events.

Coach Luis Enrique, who has been managing the team for several years, contributed significantly to the success with his strategic skill. Under his leadership, PSG developed into one of Europe’s best teams, standing out not only through its offensive strength but also through its teamwork and tactical flexibility.

The second Champions League title in a short period is regarded as a milestone in the club’s history and promises an exciting future for PSG. The enthusiasm of the fans, who showed up in large numbers and celebrated exuberantly despite the incidents, is a clear sign of the club’s importance in French sports.

With this success, PSG sends a signal across Europe that underlines both the club’s ambitions and the quality of the French football league. The coming seasons will show whether the club can maintain its top position and advance to further title rounds.
