Paris Saint-Germain defends its Champions League title after a dramatic penalty shootout against Arsenal

Budapest – 30.05.2026: In a thrilling UEFA Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Arsenal faced off at the Puskás Aréna. After 120 minutes during which Arsenal had taken the lead as early as the 5th minute thanks to Kai Havertz, and PSG had equalized in the 65th minute on a penalty converted by Ousmane Dembélé, the decision came during the penalty shootout. According to the police, 79 people were arrested, including 45 placed in custody. The authorities seized 24 flares and more than 100 fireworks. One police officer was injured during the unrest and had to receive medical care.
