Lausanne – 01 August 2026: Even before the peloton set off for the first stage of the Tour de France Femmes, FDJ United-Suez’s new partner was already clearly visible: music came from a Red Bull vehicle, while the energy drink company’s logo was emblazoned on the riders’ helmets. Shortly afterwards, the French women’s WorldTeam confirmed the long-anticipated collaboration. Red Bull becomes a main and official energy drink partner with immediate effect.
For the time being, the team’s name will remain unchanged. FDJ United and environmental company Suez will remain the team’s naming partners until the end of 2028. Red Bull will receive prominent space on the helmets and, according to the team, is expected to contribute to its sporting development in the long term. The team chose the Grand Depart of the Tour de France Femmes, which began in Lausanne on 1 August 2026, as the stage for the announcement.
Team manager Stephen Delcourt sees the agreement as more than additional visibility. The Frenchman, who has led the team founded in 2006 since its early days, expects new opportunities in training planning, performance diagnostics and recovery. FDJ United-Suez is expected to be able to draw in particular on the expertise of the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center. The parties did not disclose the duration or financial scope of the contract.
In sporting terms, the new partner joins a team with international ambitions. The squad for the stage race is led by Demi Vollering. The Dutch rider is expected to challenge for the overall victory. Her line-up includes Juliette Berthet, Evita Muzic, Amber Kraak, Marie Le Net, Franziska Koch and French champion Celia Gery.
Over a nine-day stage race, additional resources in performance management can make a noticeable difference. Recovery, nutrition, altitude preparation, equipment analysis and the precise calibration of workload all help determine how much strength a favourite retains for the demanding mountain stages. Delcourt’s team is designed to protect Vollering on the flat and give her several tactical options in the mountains.
With the partnership, Red Bull is expanding its involvement in women’s road cycling. In the men’s peloton, the company is already represented through Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe; it also supports individual female and male riders. At FDJ United-Suez, however, sporting leadership remains with Delcourt and his organisation. There are no indications of a takeover or a stake in the ownership structure.
For FDJ United-Suez, the collaboration therefore begins immediately under race conditions. By the finale on 9 August, it should become clear whether Vollering can fulfil her bid for the yellow jersey with the strengthened support structure. What is certain for now is that Red Bull gives the team access to additional structures without taking over its name or sporting management.
