Tour de France: SNCF uses a special TGV for team transfers from the Alps to Paris

Paris – 29.05.2026: For the first time in the history of the Tour de France, the French state railway company SNCF is providing a special TGV that is used exclusively for the transfer of teams and cyclists from the Alps to the Paris region. This offer was created to ensure smooth, fast, and comfortable transportation during this international cycling competition. The decision was made following consultations with the organizers of the event known as “La Grande Boucle”.

The 2026 Tour de France also includes numerous demanding stages in the Alps, which are physically very challenging. After completing these mountainous sections, it is necessary to transfer the athletes, coaches, and assistants to the capital region to efficiently complete the following stages and make the most of the rest days. The special TGV offered aims to provide a quick connection with fewer transfers.
