The Paris prosecution office announced that 277 people, including 82 minors, have been taken into police custody. They are accused, among other things, of acts of violence, theft, and damage.
The contrast between the sporting enthusiasm and the nighttime riots is evident. While PSG celebrates the greatest success in its history, the joy of many fans has been overshadowed by the violence of a relatively small group.
Despite the incidents, the authorities are maintaining the official celebrations. For the events in Paris, a comprehensive security plan has been implemented. About 22,000 police officers and gendarmes are deployed across the country. In addition, there are significant restrictions on traffic and local public transport around the Champ-de-Mars.
In addition to the fan celebration, a reception for the team is also planned at the Élysée Palace. The French capital hopes to honor the sports success of the club in an orderly and festive setting.
