Oleg Morozov, Russian deputy and close confidant of Vladimir Putin, was interviewed on Russian television. During the conversation, he said that Western politicians traveling to Kyiv “should consider whether they might wake up in Moscow.” Clearly an allusion to a kidnapping.
Oleg Morozov, deputy of the Russian State Duma, made alarming remarks on Russian television. The close confidant of Vladimir Putin urged Western leaders of NATO member countries to “consider whether they might wake up in Moscow.”
A clear threat of a possible kidnapping if Western politicians travel to Kyiv to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky. Emmanuel Macron might also travel to Ukraine soon…
Asked on the Russian TV channel, Oleg Morozov stated that he imagines scenarios in which NATO leaders become victims of kidnappings: “I imagined a fairy tale scenario: at some point in the near future, the head of a NATO country will be sitting on a train to Kyiv to meet Volodymyr Zelensky and never arrive there. On the contrary, he will wake up somewhere in Moscow.”

“Are we going to carry out a kidnapping?” the host then asks, astonished. “Yes! And then we will find out what orders he gave and what he is responsible for,” confirms Oleg Morozov, who was obviously in a nervously excited state.

“There are new rules in this world”
After some chuckling and laughter from the other attendees in the TV studio, Morosov continued: “By the way, I don’t think that is far-fetched. We have gotten used to the world working in a certain way, but since February 24, it is working differently. There are new rules in this world. Every high-ranking politician who wants to travel to Kyiv tomorrow should consider whether they want to wake up in Moscow,” he reaffirmed.
An open threat that will further strain the relations between Russia and the West.
