“13:15 on Saturday”: Opening of a unique community for elderly people in Vaud

Vaucluse – 06/05/2026: In the Vaucluse region, the French television program “13h15 le samedi” visited a special community for elderly people. This community has an average age of around 90 and was created by Chloe Richard. Its goal is to provide older people with the opportunity to live independently in a friendly and active environment.

Chloe Richard, who previously worked as a social worker for 15 years, opened the first “Maison Marguerite” in Valréas almost four years ago. Due to great success, she decided to open another house in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux. “I chose Saint-Paul because it is a city I especially appreciate. I lived there for several years and consider it the perfect place for the community to age peacefully!” explained Richard.

“Maison Marguerite” in Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, which opened on June 1, offers ten furnished studio apartments each with its own bathroom and toilet. Shared areas such as the living room, dining room, kitchen, and beautiful garden are available to all residents. An elevator has been installed to facilitate access.

A special feature of this community is the daily support from a specialized team working on-site seven days a week. This team handles everyday tasks such as shopping, cooking, house cleaning, and laundry care, as well as organizing events. Residents can express their wishes and needs.

Although “Maison Marguerite” does not provide medical care, residents have the freedom to choose their own healthcare professionals, such as doctors, physical therapists, or nurses. “Everything works like at home. Housemates choose their caregivers,” emphasized Chloe Richard.

Residents have the opportunity to participate in various activities organized by the community. These include light gymnastics, singing, theater, dancing, trips, and visits. These activities are decided collectively and help foster a sense of community.

Monthly costs for “Maison Marguerite” range from 1700 to 1900 euros and include rent, utilities (water, electricity, internet), services (house and laundry care, meal preparation), activities, and groceries for all meals.
